One obvious driver is the Smartphone trend, making end users expect more from the HMI in terms of usability and interaction. Related to this, it is quite common that the operator cannot utilize the full potential and capability of a complex machine. Another challenge is the software domain; hardware is often supplied with proprietary software solutions which limit possibilities for OEMs to realize desired functionality.

CrossControl, the Sweden-based provider of industrial vehicle control solutions, establishes operations in Germany. The German office will be headed by Yassine Zoubir, previously CEO within ArcelorMittal. Up till 2007, Mr. Zoubir was Division Manager for ifm’s ecomat mobile.

This is a challenge for the industrial vehicle sector and the objective with the seminar was to inspire the participants by showing how this is made possible in industrial vehicle contexts.
