# Installation guide

## Prerequisites

* LinX Software Suite DevEnv v6.0 or newer
* Qt 6.8.3

## Supported Qt Creator versions

* Qt Creator 17.0.1

## Installing LinX Manager Data Engine

Observe that LinX Manager Data Engine comes pre installed as a QtCreator plugin in the UX-Designer dev tool from CrossControl.

These steps are intended to be performed in the UX Designer VM 6.0 or newer.

1. Contact customer support for `linx-manager-dataengine_<version>_amd64.deb` installation package. 
2. Move the package to your VM.
2. Double-click on the package to open it with GDebi.
3. Follow the instructions to install the package.

sudo apt install ./linx-manager-dataengine_<version>_amd64.deb
```

LinX Manager Data Engine is available from the mode selector in Qt Creator once installed.
