Salt water, spray, humidity and quickly changing temperatures are some of the challenges facing electronics deployed on or near the water.
CrossControl’s platform is designed to succeed in challenging environments, CCpilot displays feature best in class tolerance for shock and vibration and boast IP certifications for 65, 66 and 67. The platform also meets tough EMC requirements including new EU standards for immunity to 100 V/M fields which qualifies it for control functionality with high requirements on integrity and safety.
Our onboard computers go through a rigorous testing routine that includes ingress protection, shock resistance, vibration tolerance, software reliability, robustness, impact resistance and platform stability. This provides clarity and hard data to share how the devices will perform and where they can be deployed.
CrossControl displays and onboard computers are built on a modular platform architecture in which components are developed and validated independently. This allows for the platform to be continually updated and to incorporate technology needed for individual market segments like marine that require different solutions.
With this platform approach, technical risks are reduced and the time to realize a product is shortened. Also, functional prototypes can be quickly derived from the platform, supporting early proof-of-concept studies and the ability to develop software and hardware in parallel.
This allows for our onboard computing products to come in variants for different applications, including marine versions that adopt water resistant boards, gold plated pins, optically isolated CAN, galvanic isolation, or display polarization. Reach out to our team to discuss which off the shelf displays have classification for DNV or ABS, which are ready to be tested, and which can be deployed for your application.
CrossControl’s open software platform is designed to meet the needs of OEMs for realising a wide range of HMI and operator support functionality, including instrumentation, process control, guidance, video and more. Available with our version of Linux which includes all the necessary firmware to manage system integrity and device settings paired with well packaged toolchains for developing applications. Developers can choose from optional tools like Qt, CODESYS, HTML5 and more or integrate the support for their own tools. Our platform includes prebuilt modules for commonly required functionality including CAN with NMEA 200 support, application management with windowing, and docker.
OPEN & MODULAR SOFTWARE PLATFORM
Overview of our open and modular platform. Which includes core software from the firmware level and OS implementation up to application development toolchains and application modules making system development leaner and supporting a wide spectrum of HMI functionality.
CYBER SECURITY
To address industry requirements and incoming regulations, such as CRA and the RED directive, that affect all electronic devices, including on-board computing solutions CrossControl’s product platform is built with security in mind, both from the HW and SW selection.
ECU WITH MULTIPLE MONITORS
CrossControl’s modular technology platform can support multiple displays through one controller, either as a headless ECU or as a main and side display pairing. This enables a system where GUI content can move dynamically between screens to optimize the HMI for various operational modes.
