Modern machine systems are moving towards shorter release cycles, with continuous feature enhancements and ever improving operator experiences. CrossControl’s modular technology platform, continuously validates and applies new technology modules that help customers add functionality and value to their vehicle systems. On the hardware level we apply a modular architecture. With this approach, components can be developed and validated independently of each other, and the platform can be continually updated to incorporate the latest technology.
The CrossControl platform can be used for HMI functions like instrumentation and settings, process control, video and guidance. It also supports advanced operational support features including the coming trends for smart vehicles like machine automation, AI inferred object detection and ADAS. The platform includes embedded software (firmware), Linux Board Support packages, and a full Linux operating system (CC Linux). On top of this layer, CrossControl offers an application platform, toolchains & libraries, Qt support tools, and software application modules. Software modules are prebuilt components that enable commonly required functionality.
The CrossControl Modular technology platform can also be deployed to support multiple displays that share a common application processor, either as a headless ECU driving several display monitors or as a main and side display pairing. This enables a system where GUI content can move dynamically between screens to optimize the HMI for various operational modes. For example, the concepts windowing system can move an operator guidance GUI from the left to the right screen as the operator progresses through a task that moves from one side of the machine to the other meaning that the key information is always closer to their natural line of sight.
Designers can select a common platform that provides the size and capability range to deliver solutions that evolves with their machine or mixed fleet over the entire life cycle, delivering continuous improvements on user experience and productivity.
