Machine vision is becoming increasingly important for industrial machines to improve productivity, meet safety targets, and aid operators. CrossControl’s platform for machine intelligence offers software modules for commonly required functionality.
CrossControl has built and optimized the underlying OS on both our x86 and ARM displays for efficiently handling Ethernet camera streams, utilizing the image processing unit to take care of the complex calculations needed to decode, filter and present the streams on the screen, leaving good space for the CPU to take care of the rest of the application logic. With our x86 based Extreme line, windows support and drivers offer a direct path for camera pairing and for Extreme line devices that support CC Linux 2.0, 9-12”, they can offer the same functionality and feature set as our modern ARM based devices. With wide toolchain support developers can build applications in Qt, CODESYS, etc and incorporate UX features like animation, fading plus camera controls including scaling, rotation, pan and zoom as easily as to any other UI object to make the camera integration feel very smooth and modern.
A live demonstration at ConExpo of our camera support will showcase how the platform is agnostic to brand with concurrent visualisation of 4 video streams, with resizable windows, from 4 different camera manufacturers. Building on from displays with connected cameras, our platform enables computer vision with object detection for process guidance, automation, augmented reality and safety and offers additional performance with an optional internal AI accelerator. ConExpo will also feature some examples of object detection on our platform with both human detection and digital fencing.
