360° Bird’s eye view vision systems provide operators with an immersive picture of their surroundings; the better systems can be calibrated to fit any machine and use hardware acceleration to deliver a smooth performance.
H view camera implementation takes advantage of the CrossControl platform to integrate four camera streams in a pre-defined grid that delivers a similar level of location awareness to the operator but does not require the processing to stitch the image. It also delivers fixed focal lengths, so objects are more easily recognised as being located at a given distance. As the feeds do not need to be stitched together the placement and direction of the cameras does not need to be so precisely calibrated, making installation both easier and more flexible. It can also more easily accommodate different camera types, formats and brands providing flexibility in sourcing and replacement.
With CrossControl’s leading edge Window Manager the H view camera system can be combined with other HMI, like gauges, task instructions and controls to maximise the available screen space and the displays on-board computing power creating a multifunction system.
