CrossControl´s iMX8 based display computers offer inherent support for machine learning reinforced solutions. AI enables processing and efficient use of large quantities of data and can be deployed in a wide spectrum of applications in the industrial space. The efficient AI acceleration and software support means that our platform can enable features such as process optimization, with real time data analysis and system monitoring, and on-vehicle predictive maintenance, without the need for cloud connectivity.

AI is not a silver bullet for industry difficulties but is a new tool that can deliver significant gains. Our platform provides open support and the opportunity to deliver a lean implementation of AI.

Utilising just our ARM based iMX8 displays and an Ethernet camera can enable computer vision with object detection. The April Issue of SAE Truck and Off-Highway features some of CrossControl’s recent work with deploying machine learning derived tools to our platform of display computers.

The article features our exploration as well as research together with Mälardalen University, covering basic to advanced implementations with demonstrated use cases.
